The Brantford Municipal Airport retained Explorer Solutions services to prepare a business plan targeted at airport growth and new sources of revenues. The mandate also required an inspection and evaluation of airport infrastructures (runway, taxiway, ramps, water and sewer systems).
For this mandate Explorer Solutions as the prime partnered with GENIUS Conseil for the engineering side of the mandate. The physical inspection of the airport was done on site by building and infrastructure engineers that provided an assessment of the airport’s assets along with a life expectancy level of each asset.
The Explorer Solutions’ Team conducted focus groups and private meetings with key airport tenants, local manufacturers and academia to discuss growth strategies for the airport and understand the challenges and opportunities. A market analysis of the southern Ontario aviation and aerospace market was conducted. It included surveying various pilots and flying clubs including those at the Buttonville Airport on the northern side of Toronto which was scheduled to close in the next few years.
Our team suggested four (4) aviation related projects for the airport to target and prepared a complete marketing plan to go after the targeted clienteles. A three-year marketing budget was also prepared, taking into consideration the development of various marketing tools and an outreach campaign.
Our report was well received by the Airport Advisory Committee and the Corporation of Town of Brantford. Airport leaders targeted key potential investors and tenants.
